The Response of Runoff Pollution Control to Initial Runoff Volume Capture in Sponge City Construction Using SWMM

Source facilities can manage stormwater runoff pollutants while also limiting volume in China’s sponge city construction. However, there is no apparent link between source control and pollution reduction. This research uses SWMM to develop a model based on the basic data of city’s catchment zone northern China order statistically examine response relationship initial capture construction reduction effect pollution. Based dimensionless constant curve, we suggested novel approach for evaluating effectiveness. method was used three typical study area, namely bioretention, permeable pavement, rain barrels, terminal storage tanks, under various design rainfall conditions. The (Dc) has good practical application value quantitatively quantify Dc higher than that facilities, indicating have ability reduce rainwater particularly infiltration facilities. ideas evaluation methods proposed this paper provide an alternative selecting optimizing during planning designing stages construction, which be monitoring stage after completion carry out more effective facilities’ effects.
